ETNA VOLCANO AND WINE TASTING - Tuesday 20 June, 2017

Guided tour of the highest active volcano in Europe...and great experience at the winery.

About the program:

 

8:30am 

the guide meets the group at the Hotel Villa Diodoro to walk to the bus area.

9:00am 

departure from Taormina, driving along the Etna road to the South side up to 2000 meters a.s.l., we will have a beautiful overview of Etna.

 

1st. stop: to visit the long eruption activity which reached the village of Zafferana Etnea. 

 

2nd stop: to visit the Silvestri craters at 2000 meters a.s.l. and the new lava casting 2001-02. Free time (1-2 hours) to enjoy a stroll around and inside the extinct crater or just to take photos of the unique moon-like landscape.

 

Departure from Silvestri craters (2000 meters) to reach the winery located on the slopes of Etna in a very beautiful spot. 

 

Lunch and Wine tasting in a renowned vineyard estate, which includes a variety of typical bites, accompanied by a selection of local wines.
